Farm stay in Bloomington — creek, trails, sheep, fire pit

This 1970s brick farmhouse sits on our main farm — about 60 acres of pasture, woods, and stream.

Three bedrooms, a pullout sofa, and two bathrooms. The house has a simple “grandma’s house” feel: comfortable, a little dated in the right ways, and built for a family to cook and sit. Washer and dryer are in the basement. The kitchen has the basics — gas cooktop, electric convection oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker. The porch grill has a gas griddle on one side and charcoal on the other. Bring charcoal.

Outside there is a private drive and parking at the house, a large backyard, a roofed deck, a fire ring with firewood, and string lights. A half-mile woods trail goes down to the creek. Animals are part of ordinary life on this farm.

Fair note: an interstate runs along one edge of the property. The brick walls help keep it quiet inside.

Bloomington and Indiana University are about 20 minutes away. This is a self-catered stay. No breakfast service. Come if you want a real farmhouse on working land.
